I began what is now " Jewels of the Deep " five years ago after having a necklace made for my mother from a piece of glass I had found. Friends and relatives of all ages loved it and encouraged me to make more.
I love walking the beach with my dogs and have found a lot of beautiful glass over the years.
I am very fussy about the pieces I use, they must be worn smooth by nature or I toss them back in the sea.
I discovered that I have a real passion for the glass, and began spending hours researching to identify the age and in some cases the origin of some pieces.
I am now able to age most of my pieces. I can honestly say that every one is exactly as I found it, and I personally found every piece I sell.
None of my glass has been tumbled or otherwise altered!
My first pendants were given as gifts or sold to friends, then I tried what became a successful stay at the Moncton Farmers Market.
We moved to St. Edouard de Kent in the fall of '04 and '05 was my first year at the Bouctouche Farmers Market. I am proud to be associated with and will be enjoying my second full time summer at the Bouctouche Farmers Market in 2006.
All of my pendants and earrings are hung with premium quality sterling silver except the pottery pieces which are hung with stainless steel. I guarantee every piece. " IF IT BREAKS, BRING IT BACK " is my policy. I can proudly say I have never had one returned.
A lot of attention makes my pieces beautiful, durable and unique, yet my prices are reasonable.
SHOW ME YOUR GLASS
I enjoy talking about the glass with people almost as much as I enjoy finding it, so drop by the market for friendly conversation and to view some beautiful seaglass.
I also have a large collection of antique bottles, some dating back to the 1700's, which will be on display for sale as well.
Take home one of my "JEWELS OF THE DEEP" and let it bring you
"the joy of a sandy beach on the days you can't be there."
